A NEW PARTNERSHIP, A NEW NAME... BUT THE SAME VISION AND DETERMINATION

The UK campaigning organisation KijijiVision World Photography and the Drik Picture Library of Bangladesh have been working together with a shared vision: to enable photographers in the developing world to gain a fair share of the world’s photographic market.

One of the first major achievements of this partnership is the launch of majorityworld.com, a new and unique online photo-library, and the first in the world to feature images produced only by photographers from Africa, Asia and Latin America.

In order to avoid confusion with different names involved, we are simplifying and unifying our activities under the Majority World brand. In future, KijijiVision’s advocacy, communications and fundraising work will come under majorityworld.org. The more commercial aspects concerning image and product sales, as well as brand licensing, will be handled by majorityworld.com.

FAREWELL KIJIJIVISION, AND WELCOME TO MAJORITYWORLD.ORG

“I really appreciate your effort in seeing to it that photographers from the majority world are given the platform to showcase their work.”
– Neo Ntsoma, Photographer, South Africa

“We had a very successful day yesterday at Picturehouse in New York. I described the new initiative to give indigenous photographers from the developing word their own “voice”. What was wonderful, and this happened time and again, was that at some point the person I was talking with would “get it”… They understood just how unique, valuable and important this is, and well they would just sort of light up… they sort of glowed. In other words, it was wonderful.”
